Tyler Shockley

As Junior Controller at Sockeye, Tyler handles complete oversight of all day-to-day accounting, reporting, and tax filing tasks that the CFO uses to lead the organization’s efforts.

With over 6 years of experience selecting, implementing from start to finish, and using Sage Intacct on a daily basis, Tyler will also be taking up the mantle of Sockeye’s internal Sage Intacct environment to ensure the implementation of industry best practices, while also automating business processes in order to be able to maximize the company’s focus on making customers satisfied.

A self-described “nerdy accountant with a creative twist”, Tyler’s non-traditional trajectory in the accounting field has given him a fresh set of eyes and an out-of-the-box creative approach to solving even the most technical accounting problems. Through his experiences, there’s always an effective technology, a unique strategy, or a more competent process that can improve organizational performance while still adhering to foundational accounting principles.

When he’s not working, Tyler and his family enjoy self-sustaining gardening, spending time outdoors, going on hikes, fishing, or camping deep in the woods away from the hustle and bustle.
