position summary

Accounting Clerk

The accounting clerk is responsible for collaborating with the accounting team to process accounts payable and accounts receivable. This includes operation of a quote to order process which involves sales orders, invoices, payment collection, purchase orders, and bill payments. The accounting clerk should be a team player with an eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to efficiently multi-task.

Essential Functions:

  • Establishing contracts, sending out invoices, processing payments, and generally maintaining the accounts receivable module in Sage Intacct
  • Entering purchase orders, bills, initiating payments, and generally maintaining the accounts payable module in Sage Intacct
  • Process incoming emails to the dedicated accounts payable and accounts receivable inboxes
  • Respond to customers or vendor phone calls regarding their accounts
  • Maintain the accounting teams AP and AR task management system
  • File documents for document control
  • Complete monthly reconciliation of credit card accounts
  • Attend all regularly scheduled Sockeye staff/accounting meetings
  • Pick-up mail and perform bank deposits
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Hands-on experience with MS Office, spreadsheets
  • Experience in Sage Intacct (is a plus but not required)
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping, accounts payable and accounts receivable principles
  • Data entry skills
  • Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
