Account Manager

The Account Manager (AM) will be responsible for developing technology solutions and strategies for clients and ensure the growth of the managed services revenue stream and project revenue stream by facilitating the sale of opportunities, ensuring project services through accurate proposal development and pre-sales design. Additionally, the AM is responsible for managing an assigned group of clients for Sockeye. The AM will work with the Sales Manager to deliver exceptional experiences to Sockeye’s existing customer base.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct Strategic Business Planning meetings with existing Sockeye clients
  • Conduct check-in calls and/or meetings with clients
  • Qualify new sales opportunities for existing clients
  • Cross-selling and up-selling services and solutions to existing clients
  • Identifies business development and “add-on” sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project
  • Provide annual budgeting for IT capital and operating expenses for existing clients
  • Conduct onsite or online presentations that showcase the services and products of the company to existing clients
  • Effectively communicate features and benefits of solutions and manage prospect expectations throughout the lifecycle of the account 
  • Maintain in-depth product knowledge of Sockeye’s services catalog & pricing structure 
  • Perform sales procedures through activities and opportunities in CRM and remain compliant with defined policies and procedures 
  • Attend weekly account management meetings and ensure sales opportunities are kept up to date 
  • Oversee the design and implementation of successful, high value technology solutions inclusive of Statements of Work (SoW) and Estimate of Hours (EoH) 
  • Possess strong consulting skills including an ability to provide strategic recommendations that provide business value to clients 
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits 
  • Develop trusted adviser relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors 
  • Collaborate with sales team to identify and grow opportunities within territory 
  • Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed

  • Builds a knowledge base of each client’s business, organization and objectives

  • Understanding of accounting software, accounting best practices, and the workflow within an accounting department

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience 
  • Relevant experience: 5 years (preferred) 
  • Account Management experience: 5 years (preferred)
